LINK EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING

LINK Employment & Training is not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation operating since 1985 and offering nationally accredited training. LINK delivers classroom based courses as well as on the job training. Our head office is in Dandenong. Classes are held at our training facilities in Dandenong, Frankston, at other locations in and around Melbourne or in the workplace throughout Victoria.

A nationally recognised Certificate is issued for qualifications completed, a Statement of attainment is issued for units & competencies completed.

Skills and knowledge you have obtained in the workplace or through other courses may be recognised through the Recognition of Prior Learning process available at LINK.

Funded Training Programs

1. Parents Returning To Earnings - Community Access Grants Program

This funding assists parents who face barriers to employment that place them at risk of long-term unemployment. LINK has 60 training places available to parents who meet the program s eligibility criteria.

Up to $1,000 maximum is available for each eligible participant to do a course through LINK. It can be used to pay for: course fees, resources (eg: books, software, tools & equipment, uniforms etc that is required to do the course), childcare costs directly related to attend training, transports costs directly related to attend training.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Parent must have been absent from education, accredited training &/or the workforce for more than 2 years while caring for children (ie: not more than 4 months f/time or equivalent p/time 640 hrs or less, in the last 2 years) and / or
  • Are Indigenous, and / or
  • Are Sole Parents, and / or
  • Come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, particularly recently arrived migrants, and /or
  • Are young and have left school early to care for their children, and /or
  • Have a disability, and / or
  • Are returning to the workforce after extended absence such as mature aged women, and / or
  • Are homeless and / or
  • Live in areas of high unemployment or are drought affected

2. Productivity Places Program

LINK offers the following courses under Productivity Places Program funding:

Childcare Worker:

  • Certificate III in Children s Services
  • Diploma of Children s Services

Special Care Workers:

  • Certificate II in Community Services Support Work
  • Certificate III in Aged Care Work
  • Certificate IV in Aged Care Work
  • Certificate III in Home & Community Care
  • Certificate III in Disability Work
  • Certificate IV in Disability Work
  • Certificate IV in Service Co-ordination

Hairdressing:

  • Certificate II in Hairdressing
  • Certificate III in Hairdressing

Service Industries:

  • Certificate II & III in Hospitality (Operations)
  • Certificate II & III in Retail
  • Certificate II & III in Retail Operations

Vocational Education Trainer:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
