CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

The Certificate has unique requirements that make it different to the previous Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Competence should be achieved in a practice environment . This practice environment would normally be a RTO or training department. There are 14 units that need to be completed, 12 core and 2 electives. Another key requirement is the demonstration of vocational or industry competencies that provide a basis for training and assessment practice.

sydney-training.com offers training and professional development sessions as part of overall training for this qualification. However, the majority of the learning needs to be in the workplace with support from colleagues and sydney-training.com staff.

Face to face training for people with no training/assessment training

sydney-training.com has a six-day blended learning course covering the various components of the Certificate. This course is delivered in 2x three-day blocks within two weeks.

Professional development for experienced trainers/assessors

Experienced trainers/assessors with Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training or no formal qualifications can upgrade to this qualification by completing partial RPL (Recognised Prior Learning) and attending professional development sessions to cover gaps. These sessions are normally 2 full day duration, up to a maximum of 4 days, depending on the breadth of prior experience.

Flexible delivery

In addition to the options above, the training can be completed by self-paced study using the print materials and our exclusive e-learning TAA Learning CD. Our TAA Learning CD has been developed with our affiliate InLearning. The CD has been designed with the learner central to our focus. It is possible to select a mix of group training and flexible delivery. Where possible, participants will be encouraged to join a learning group, where they can interact with colleagues at meetings, by phone and over the internet.

Costs

Depending on the options selected, the cost to complete the full training for an individual will between $1750 and $1990.

For experienced trainers/assessors, the costs will vary depending on the level of RPL that is achieved.

These costs will be discounted where an organisation enrols more than one person at the same time.
